Prof. Chen Tan
On August 6, 2021, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the list of candidates for chief scientist and post scientist of the modern agricultural industry technology system. Professor Tan Chen, a PI of the "Improving Food Safety of Pork Supply Chain in China" project and a Professor at College of Veterinary Medicine, Huazhong Agricultural University, was selected as a post scientist in the National Pig Industry Technology System.
The National Pig Industry Technology System was set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China to promote the development of the pig industry and pork safety in China.
Resume of Professor Tan Chen:
Tan Chen, PhD., is currently a professor of animal infectious diseases at Huazhong Agricultural University. His research interests include the etiology and epidemiology of important swine diseases, the pathogenic and immune mechanism of animal bacterial pathogenic microorganisms, the research and development of new vaccines, drugs, and antibiotic substitutes, the biological safety system of pig farms and the comprehensive prevention and control technology of important diseases. In recent years, he has presided over the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of Hubei Province. As the corresponding author or the first author, he has published more than 40 SCI papers in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Emerging Microbes & Infections, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Infection and Immunity and other journals.
